TX-RZ710 Features

  • MULTI-ZONE AUDIO AND VIDEO

Pre-outs for Zone 3 as well as Powered Zone 2A/B capability opens up distributed audio options throughout the home backed by dedicated Zone 2 and Zone 3 DACs.

Select HDMI terminals support 4K/60 Hz video, HDCP 2.2 copy protection, and High Dynamic Range (HDR), with BT.2020 support, for next-generation UltraHD streaming and broadcasting. A 4k and HDCP 2.2/HDR-compatible Zone 2 HDMI output allows you to enjoy AV sources connected to the receiver in another room.
  • THX-CERTIFIED FOR THEATER REFERENCE SOUND

THX® certification guarantees the same high volume and low distortion levels you experience in a commercial theater in your listening room. THX® Select2™ Plus is recommended for screen-to-seat viewing distances of 10 –12 feet (3 – 4 m).

To achieve THX® certification, amplifiers must undergo a barrage of the industry's toughest independent bench testing to satisfy THX®requirements.
  • YOUR SPEAKERS WILL THANK YOU

Speakers are built to be driven hard, and most amps out there can't do it. The RZ710 delivers a high instantaneous current to grip and control speakers, moving them through their entire range. It's a significant boost to the dynamism, detail, and accuracy of music and movie soundtracks for a thrilling listening experience.
  • DYNAMIC AUDIO AMPLIFICATION. IT'S SERIOUS.

Upgraded components, such as the massive transformer and custom capacitors, provide high instantaneous current for lightning-fast transient response and a frequency range that extends down to 5 Hz.

Discrete amp circuits prevent phase shifting for an accurate audio image, cutting distortion even at floor-shaking volumes. It's a serious build for those serious about sound.

The RZ710's dynamic audio amplification delivers massive power at 110 W/Ch (8 Ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 Channels Driven).

  • NOISELESS AUDIO PROCESSING

Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry is a mouthful, so we call it VLSC™. This circuitry virtually removes digital pulse noise for a smooth analog signal. RZ710 features VLSC across all channels.

Data is converted between sampling points and these points are joined with analog vectors in real time to produce a smooth output wave form. The result is a virtually noiseless, smooth, analog signal based on the digital source. It brings out even the most subtle of nuances in audio sources.
  • LISTEN! UP IN THE SKY!

Make object-based Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X™ surround sound reality in your living room. Sound flows naturally above and around in three dimensions, with discrete effects—such as birdcalls, rain, or the sound of a helicopter—originating from overhead. In fact, every element in an "object-based" soundtrack is mixed separately, so it's free to travel from speaker to speaker with lifelike realism.

Additionally, the Dolby surround up-mixer processes content not mixed for Dolby Atmos to fill the flexible speaker layouts of a Dolby Atmos system.

DTS:X functionality is enabled via free firwmare update.

  • FIRECONNECT™ MULTI-ROOM AUDIO

A firmware update enables any audio source connected to the receiver—from vinyl to streaming audio—to be sent wirelessly via FireConnect™ powered by Blackfire, to an optional speaker placed anywhere in your home. Stable, fast, and easy to control with a mobile, it's the smart way to set audio free.

FireConnect™ is a technology developed by Blackfire Research. Multi-room audio enabled by this technology requires an optional Onkyo wireless speaker scheduled for release in summer 2016. Onkyo cannot guarantee the compatibility of its A/V receivers with other devices featuring FireConnect™. Please consult the Onkyo website for further announcements regarding these technologies.

  • DIAL IN AUDIO WITH ACCUEQ

AccuEQ equalizes the surround-sound to suit the room acoustics for crisply focused sound, while AccuReflex aligns the phase of upfiring height speakers with sound coming directly from your other speakers. Any delay is resolved so that everything arrives at your ears at the same time. The result is cohesive reproduction of object-based soundtracks.
  • PRIORITY SUPPORT & THREE YEAR WARRANTY

Onkyo RZ Series specialists are specifically trained to troubleshoot any issues you encounter on an install via a dedicated support line. Onkyo RZ Series products are backed by a three-year warranty should a product ever require service or replacement.

Image/Features

Bi-Amp Capable

You can connect front left and right speakers that support Bi-amping to improve quality of the bass and treble. Bi-Amping speakers require one amplifier for the tweeter jacks and one amplifier for the woofer jacks.

Audio Return Channel

Shown here are the connections for a TV that supports the ARC (Audio Return Channel) feature. By connecting with a single HDMI cable, you can not only output the video input to this unit to the TV, but you can also play the sound from the TV through this unit. Choose an HDMI IN jack on the TV that supports ARC when connecting.

Network Hookup

Connect this unit to the network using wired LAN or Wi-Fi (wireless LAN). You can enjoy sources such as internet radio, a music server, and AirPlay by connecting the unit to your network.

Zone 2 HDMI Out & Sub Out

The Zone 2 HDMI output routes video from media players connected to your receiver to a second TV with easy remote app control. You can send hi-def content to a second TV without having to purchase another Blu-ray player or any other settop box. Connect your additional display using the receiver's Zone 2 HDMI output to watch the same program, or a different one, in two different rooms. HDMI Sub Out is ideal for connecting a projector.

Easy HDMI Source Connection

This is an example of connection with an AV component that has an HDMI jack. With connection to an AV component that conforms with the CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) standard, you can use features such as the HDMI CEC feature that links with the input selector, and the HDMI Standby Through feature which allows you to play video and audio from AV components on the TV even when this unit is in standby mode.

Don't Forget!

To enjoy digital surround sound including Dolby Digital, audio output should be set to "Bitstream output" on the connected Blu-ray Disc Player or other device.

Connecting Non-HDMI AV Components

This is an example of connection with an AV component that does not have an HDMI jack. Make the connections to the AV component to match the jacks it has. When video input connection is to the BD/DVD jack, the audio input connection should also be to the BD/DVD jacks, and so on, so that you connect the video input jacks to the jacks with the same name as the audio input jacks. Note that video signals input to the VIDEO IN jack or the COMPONENT VIDEO IN jacks will be converted to HDMI video signals and then output from the HDMI OUT jack.

Connecting Audio Components

Example of a connection with an audio component. Connect a CD player using a digital optical cable or analog audio cable. You can also connect a turntable that has an MM-type cartridge to the PHONO jack.

ZONE 2 A/B Speakers

You can connect up to two speaker systems and output the same audio. To connect one speaker system, use the ZONE 2A jacks, and to connect two speaker systems, use the ZONE 2B jacks in addition to the ZONE 2A jacks.

Zone 2 Pre/Line Outs

RS232, IR, 12V Trigger

12V TRIGGER OUT jack to connect a device with 12V trigger input jack and enable link operation between the device and the unit.
IR IN port allows you to connect a multiroom remote control kit.
RS232 port for connection to a home control system.

Front Panel Connections

AUX INPUT HDMI jack: Connect to a video camera, etc., using an HDMI cable.

SETUP MIC jack: The supplied speaker setup microphone connects here.
